Broiler breeders, or the parent stock, are raised in a floor housing system where hens and roosters can roam freely. The hens feel comfortable laying eggs in peaceful nest boxes and as a result, plenty of clean and unbroken eggs can be collected from the nests. From the chicken house, fertilized eggs are transported to a hatchery. Perches and litter in the floor housing system provide the chickens with additional stimulation. Drinking and feeding systems are attached to the ceiling and their height can be adjusted easily with an automatic winch as the birds grow. Plastic slats on the floor makes the poultry house cleaner.
